Holiday Cottages in Suffolk
The east coast of the United Kingdom gives way to the rugged but beautiful county of Suffolk. The coastline which looks out onto the harsh North Sea is home to thousands of different species of plant and wildlife, making this a great place to walk and take in the breath taking views.
Places to visit
A beautiful part of Suffolk right on the edge of the coast and dating back to anglo-saxon times, Dunwich is a must visit. It has had a rich history and was once an extremely popular town. Sadly aggressive coastal erosion, saw the town being swept into the sea and now whats left has a population of less than 100, with only a handful of houses.
No visit to Suffolk would be complete without checking out Sutton Hoo. The burial place of anglo Saxon Kings. It is one of the most important ancient sites in Britain and is now run by the National Trust.
There are a number of great castles that you can visit, including Framlingham Castle and Orford castle, both managed by English Heritage
Holiday Cottages Suffolk
When it comes to holiday cottages, Suffolk has a good choice. The county is a largely rural area where farming is still widespread. Over the years, farmers have struggled to make a living from farming alone. As a result, most of them have branched out into other areas, including tourism. Many of them have converted old workers cottages and out buildings into high quality holiday accommodation.
Types of Holiday Cottages Suffolk Offers
However, not all of the holiday cottages Suffolk offers are based on farms. There are also plenty of cottages available in villages. This means that people who stay in them do not need a taxi to enjoy a meal out. They normally only have to walk to the village pub and can shop at the village store for basic groceries. However, if a rural holiday does not appeal there are also cottages available on the edge of larger towns and some cities.
The range of cottages available varies from area to area. There are romantic small cottages, set on their own, designed for couples and small families to enjoy.
However, for those who like to holiday with their extended family or a large group of friends there are much bigger holiday cottages available. Some firms even offer a range of different size and types of cottages within walking distance of each other. This gives large groups the best of both worlds. Everyone has the privacy of their own cottage, with the convenience of being close enough to each other to make socialising and days out together viable.
Finding the Best Holiday Cottages Suffolk Has to Offer
With so much choice, it is not hard to find good quality accommodation in Suffolk of all kinds. However, it can take time.
Trawling through dozens of websites set up by individual cottage owners is not necessarily the best approach. The search term 'holiday cottages Suffolk' will bring back details of firms who offer a range of cottages from one website. This kind of website makes it easy to compare what is on offer and find the right cottage for the right price.
